This was the first super-hospital to be built in GB by Carillion Building, costing approx. £450 million, with a masonry package value of £2.5 million Supply & Fix.

Reussir peaked with approx. 50 Bricklayers on this project, with one half of the building (clinical elevations) built in Blue Engineering Bricks, and the other half (ward elevations) built in Natural Pennant Stone from the Forest of Dean.

Our very experienced tradesmen built both brick and stone to an exceptionally high standard.

At the peak there was over 1000 workers on this site, causing many logistical challenges, that Carillion Building managed extremely well.

We built some blue brick walls with “Honey combed” brickwork, with special “All face sided bricks” with stitching rods drilled to run down through the bricks. This was a very difficult job to do, especially with a non-absorbent engineering brick. The end result was very good and allows air to flow through the brickwork from the adjacent courtyard.

We`d like to thank the Carillion Building project team for their great management and understanding, with an exceptional emphasise on the Health & Safety of our workers.

We cannot wait to work with the Project Director Keith Hutton, Commercial Director Tony Boak, and Peter Cochlin, Terry Elton, and Dave Read.
